What makes a password secure?
A strong password is difficult to guess and is used for only one account. Length and randomness matter because they increase the number of possible combinations an attacker would need to test. A password that looks complicated but follows a familiar pattern may be easier to guess than it appears.
Use a unique password for every account
Reusing passwords creates a chain of risk: if one service is breached, attackers may try the same credentials on email, banking, shopping, and social accounts. A password manager can help create and store unique passwords without requiring you to memorize each one.
Choose length and randomness over predictable tricks
Adding a number or symbol to a common word does not automatically make it strong. Prefer a randomly generated password that meets the service's requirements. If you need something memorable, consider a properly generated passphrase made from randomly selected words.
Protect the account beyond its password
Enable multifactor authentication when available, keep recovery options current, and be alert to phishing messages. A password generator is one part of account security, not a substitute for these additional protections.
